Complete nutritional information for the Top of the Cedric Rucker University Center is available on the new Everyday app. Simply search "Everday Sodexo" to download the free app, then use the code 4489 to enter University of Mary Washington. Meet the Dietitian!

Susan Hurd, RDN, LDN is a graduate of Rutgers University. She has 20+ years of experience as a Registered Dietitian with Dining Services on college campuses. She's available for complimentary consultations on topics such as: food allergies, Celiac disease, diabetes, or other special dietary needs, eating healthy on campus, vegan and vegetarian nutrition, weight management, or for campus presentations, Sue has a passion for leading a healthy lifestyle and empowering people of all ages to reach their healthiest potential through food and nutrition. Sue also assists students on campus that have dietary restrictions, helping them become more comfortable in their new dining environment.

Simple Servings

Simple Servings is our dining option for students with food allergies, gluten intolerance, or those who prefer plain and simple foods. The Simple Servings station offers food free from common these allergens: peanuts, tree nuts, shellfish, wheat, soy, milk products, eggs, and gluten.
 
Simple Servings staff members are carefully trained to avoid cross-contact with food allergens. Separate equipment, storage areas, utensils and preparation areas minimize, but do not completely eliminate, the chances of gluten and food allergens in our Simple Servings foods. 75% of Simple Servings items also meet our Mindful criteria, which makes them easy and healthy choices for customers who are focused on ingredients and portion size to control weight, blood sugar and other health issues.
 

Gluten-Free Options

The Simple Servings station at the Top of the Cedric Rucker University Center offers complete lunch and dinner meals that are free from gluten, and which are prepared and served in an environment that prevents cross-contact with other gluten-containing foods. Gluten-free items are also available at the other points of service at the Top of the CRUC, but are not guaranteed against possible cross-contact with gluten-containing foods. Some gluten-free items are also available in our retail dining locations.

Mindful is Sodexo's health & wellness approach that helps you make healthy choices second nature! We are committed to creating healthy environments for our customers. Central to this effort is providing healthy, nutritious foods. The result of this initiative is an approach that focuses on transparency of ingredients, delicious food, satisfying portions and clarity in message so that you can make Mindful choices!

Mindful offerings meet stringent nutritional criteria based on the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. Each meal part is limited in calories, has fewer than 30% of calories as fat, fewer than 10 % of calories as saturated fat, and is restricted in sodium, and cholesterol. Look for the Mindful icon to indulge in the healthy and delicious items offered at each meal.

Vegan Grill

Our Earthbar Vegan Grill at Top of the Cedric Rucker University Center offers vegan entrees every day for lunch and dinner. You can also build your own vegan plate with a variety of vegetables, grains, legumes and sauces and get it cooked to order! Vegan offerings contain no meat, fish, eggs, milk or other animal-derived products such as honey. Foods with this icon are labeled Vegan.

Menu items with the vegetarian icon contain no meat, fish or poultry, or any meat products such as soup base. Our vegetarian offerings meet the needs of lacto-ovo vegetarians and may include eggs and/or dairy products. Foods with this icon are labeled Vegetarian.
